Friday 4th September was a busy day at Free Space Gallery with an afternoon drop in mono-printing workshop with artist in residence Philly Hunt in the Well-Beeing Garden and a late evening opening for Interpretations our current exhibition by Nicola Jayne Maskrey.
Philly was in her element holding an informal printing workshop in the garden where she has been artist in residence for the last few months. The heavy down pours and aging felting on the Spirit Shed roof has led to Philly taking refuge in the main building but the garden and shed are where she feels her work and art sit more happily. Philly’s mono-printing workshop will be taking place again on Friday 11th September 2 – 6pm weather permitting in the Well-Beeing Garden but perhaps in the main centre. Please do pop along, learn how to print and have a think about talisman and what we each use for storing and displaying our identity – all will be revealed!
Nicola was on hand to welcome visitors to her exhibition of photographs on Friday evening taking people through the inspiration and context behind her work.
Interpretations is with us until 9th October and Philly will be hosting another mono-printing workshop on Friday 11th of September.
