[…]

A Brother’s Progress

July 26, 2016 by freespaceatthewigg

On the evening of Friday 22nd July the exhibition space and in-fact the whole health centre was filled with the aromatic scent of Ethiopian coffee courtesy of Eden Ethiopian Coffee of Camden. A coffee ceremony in traditional dress, Ethiopian beer and honey wine perfectly complimented the Ethiopian themed exhibition of artist in residence Catherine Chambers. Over the course of her three month residency Catherine chose to focus on her time spent in Ethiopia. She took stories from those she met […]

May 29, 2013 by freespaceatthewigg

Past Exhibition – ‘Nothing Here’ by Michelle Heron. Vicky Dale and Jenny Leonard – 30th May – 21st June 2013 Someone recommended that I watch this documentary to really change the way I viewed living in a city. Its themes resonate with the work of Michelle Heron, Vicky Dale & Jenny Leonard who on Thursday will be showing their collection of […]

New year new growth

January 7, 2013 by freespaceatthewigg

‘Stars and Stems’ – January 2013 Every new year we tend to try and squish ourselves into something that doesn’t quite fit. Maybe out of politeness we have to be seen wearing a new and completely inappropriate item of clothing purchased by a loved one who has no idea of our size/shape/style or maybe it is a bit more of a mental squish. We force ourselves to naval gaze and to come up with an arbitrary list of things which […]

‘Outside it may be raining but in here its entertaining’

July 10, 2012 by freespaceatthewigg

Despite having to hop over puddles on the way to work as well as digging out that awful pond green waterproof jacket,  we here at Free Space Gallery are still optimistic about summer 2012. Lots has been going on with a wonderful exhibition by PaperGirlLondon  Although the exhibition only graced our walls for a number of days the reaction was overwhelming, with work sent in from as far a field as Japan and Brazil. The work will be distributed, hopefully […]
